Muscat

The best day is Wadi Shab, Lake Bimma and the main dish of the sultans.

Description:

  • Wadi Shab is a real mountain oasis in the desert expanses of Oman. Visiting Wadi Shab will be an exciting adventure for you. You will have to cross by boat, walk along the gorge among the majestic rocks and enjoy stunning views. Then a hiking route will begin, which will continue swimming in calm waters. Those who prefer not to swim, you can stay at the end of the hiking route, sunbathe among the mountains and take beautiful photos. For those who want to reach the end, there is a path on the water and swim. At the end of the route you will find a deep pool, the entrance to the cave and a magnificent waterfall, leaving an unforgettable experience.
  • Lake Bimma. Bimmah sinkhole is a lake with turquoise water, about 50 meters wide, 70 meters long and about 20 meters deep, located just 600 meters from the sea shore. The crater was formed as a result of the destruction of the surface layer of limestone, but locals believe that it came from the fall of a meteorite. That is why the lake has the Arabic name Hawiyat Najm, which means “deep well of the (falling) star”.
  • The main dish of the sultans is shuva. Pieces of meat are marinated in a mixture of local spices, wrapped in the leaves of date palm and placed in a special oven in the sand, where it slowly languishes for about a day. A dish with vegetable gravy, vegetables and rice is served.
