Al-Tawra Hot Springs

Oman, Governorate of South Batina, Nahal City

Description:

The hot springs of Al Taura are located in a green oasis near the city of Nahal in Oman, near the famous Nahal Fort. The road to the springs from Muscat takes about two hours. The last stretch from the fort to the springs passes by palm plantations and farmhouses, both ancient and modern.

Translated from Arabic, the name of the sources means “boiling”. In fact, the water in the springs is not so hot, throughout the year it keeps the temperature of steamed milk. Among the local population, it was believed that the water in the springs is heated by the jinn living underground.

Al-Tawra originates in the mountains of Jabal Nahal, forming a small backwater from which a stream flows. Located among the golden hills, surrounded by green palm islets, the spring is a great place to relax - soaking up in warm water, it is pleasant to enjoy the coolness in the shade of trees.
