Journey to the Green Mountains

Description:

Today our way lies to one of the most beautiful peaks of the Hajar Mountains - Jebel Al Ahdar.

Locals call it the Green Mountain because of the abundance of greenery and a very comfortable climate at almost any time of the year. In the winter months there is a bright day sun, and at night it is cool and even snow can fall. Surprised? But in the summer, it's paradise! At a time when the weather is hot everywhere in Oman, the Green Mountain is very comfortable cool, great for a picnic or walk.

Today’s tour is a beautiful combination of Oman’s ancient history, nature and culture.

First we will stop at the traditional bazaar of silver, kuramics, spices and Omani sweets in Nizva and walk through the bastions of the famous fortress, built in the 17th century.

And then climb the green mountain along the serpentine road with many stops for photos of canyons, peaks and just beautiful plants. After visiting Cape Diana, you will have the opportunity to stroll through the gardens of pomegranate trees, walnuts, grapes and pink plantations, from the flowers of which the famous rose water is produced.

The ancient village in Khabib canyon will also attract your attention.

On the way back to Muscat, we will get acquainted with the irrigation system of the village of Birqa Al Moaz, protected by UNESCO.
