Andrzejki (Andrea's birthday day)

Description:

Young people in cities and villages are trying to guess how their lives will turn out.
The name of this holiday came from the name of "Andrei" - one of the most popular male names in Poland.

This national holiday is celebrated on the night of November 29-30, and it is celebrated not only by Andrea.

During parties, young people in cities and villages try to guess how their lives will turn out. For this purpose, melted wax is poured into the water and on its contours they try to see the silhouettes of those with whom they will meet on the path of life, whom they will marry, whom they marry or silhouettes resembling various symbols.

"Andrakes" resemble Christmas divination, held in Russia on Christmas Eve.

More and more Polish youth celebrate this day in clubs and discos, forgetting about folk traditions.
