Catholic Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, when the first star rises in the sky, the whole family in elegant clothes meets at a gala dinner. Everyone is sharing the cloth, congratulating each other on the holiday and wishing the best.
On the table are lean dishes: borscht with dumplings, fried and poured carp, dumplings with cabbage and mushrooms, compote from dried fruits, sweet pies, in some areas of Poland - kutya. There is a decorated tree in the room, and underneath it are gifts for all family members. As a rule, everyone at the table sings carols and remembers the outgoing year.
