Feast of the Dead
Description:
Day of RemembranceMemorial day. Poles commemorate and honor the memory of the dead, light lamps on their graves, lay chrysanthemums. It is a day of deep reflection and remembrance. This holiday is dedicated to those who have died and are in purgatory. Those who live on earth can be shortened by prayer, repentance and good deeds.
As a rule, the Feast of the Dead is celebrated a day earlier – on All Saints’ Day, since November 2 is a working day in Poland and there is no opportunity to go to the graves of relatives and friends.
