Gdynia-Kosakovo International Airport

Description:

Gdynia-Kosakovo Airport was founded in July 2007 by the self-government of the cities of Kosakovo and Gdynia and was used only for military purposes. In 2009, work began on its adaptation to civil aviation, which was facilitated by the favorable location of the airfield, as well as its expensive coverage and navigation equipment.

Currently, the construction of a passenger terminal is underway, which is planned to be completed by December 2012. First, the airport will work with General Aviation. To do this, it will be issued a special code B, which will allow landing on its territory only small aircraft. At the next stage of development of the airport Gdynia-Kosakovo plan to launch charter and regular low-cost flights.

The technical base of the airport will include three passenger terminals, a weather station, two large waiting rooms and two runways, as well as a parking and observation deck.
