Museum of musical instruments

Stary Rynek 45, Poznan

About the company:

The Museum of Musical Instruments in Poznan is the richest collection of European and world instruments since the XVI, and Polish folk instruments since the XI century. It is the first of its kind in Poland and only the third in Europe since it was established in 1945-1946.

The founder and first curator of the museum Zdislav Schultz was a collector and specialist in rare instruments, and many of the exhibits are part of his collection. The entire exhibition is divided into sections. For example, there are rooms of music boxes and gramophones, a separate room of piano and organs. Here you can also see such rare instruments as xylophone or jazz violin.
