Krulikarnya Palace
Description:
Krulikarny Palace is located in the capital of Poland, the city of Warsaw, in the district of Mokotow. This palace received its name in the style of neoclassicism due to the fact that in ancient times there were hunting grounds and a menagerie of King Augustus II.
Designed by royal architect Domenico Merlini on behalf of Count Carol de Valerie Tomatis, this castle has been the property of several great families at different times. In the castle lived and sung in the modern Polish anthem Tadeusz Kosciuszko, and Prince Mihailo Radziwill, and other historical figures.
In 1939, during the bombing of the city, the Krulikarny Palace was almost destroyed. In the postwar period, the sculptures of Xavier Dunikovsky were supposed to settle here, but he, unfortunately, did not live to see the completion of the reconstruction of the building. Today, the palace houses the Museum of Sculpture named after Xavier Dunikovsky, many cultural events of the city are held here, and a picturesque park stretches around the Krulikarny Palace.
