Ostrogski Palace
Description:
The Ostrozhski Palace is located in the center of the Polish capital, Warsaw. The palace is made in the Baroque style and today is the house-museum of Frederick Chopin. In its lifetime, this mansion managed to be a dormitory, a hospital and a Music Institute. Here are photos and manuscripts of the famous Polish composer.
Initially, the place for the construction of the palace was bought by Prince Janusz Ostrogsky in the XVII century. However, the prince never lived to see the construction of the mansion. The new owner of the land allocated for construction was the diplomat Jan Gninsky, who built his own residence here.
In 1725, the mansion was acquired by the Zamoyskys, who, disappointed in the unfinished building, did not settle on this land. After that, the Ostrogsky Palace managed to visit a student dormitory, a hospital, and even a Music Institute. Destroyed during the Second World War, the mansion was revived from ruins, and since then there is the Chopin Music Society.
