Royal Lazienki Park

Lazienki Park - the very end of Aleje Ujazdowskie, after it begins Belwederska Street

Description:

Lazienki is one of the most beautiful complexes of this type in Europe. The entire ancient park with its numerous historical and cultural monuments is called the Warsaw (or Royal) Lazienki.

The park got its name for a reason. Founded in the XVII century, it has always attracted the royalty of Poland with its unique beauty. In 1623, Sigismund III Vasa built a magnificent palace here - Uyazdovsky Castle. The place for the construction of the residence was not chosen by chance: after all, the Vistula bend looks beautiful from here. Later, Marshal Stanislav Lubomirski made his contribution to the current appearance of the park. He built not far from the palace, in the forest more often, two small pavilions for recreation - the Hermitage and Lazne. In the Hermitage, the marshal rested from work in solitude. But in Lazna, located on the island, Stanislav in pleasant company spent time in the bath. Hence the name for the entire park.

Now this richly decorated Baroque building is hidden within the walls of the present Palace on the island - one of the most beautiful monuments of Warsaw.

Notable in Lazienki and the Amphitheater, which is located near the water itself.

Lazenki Park is divided into three gardens, their total area is 76 hectares: the Royal Garden, Belvedere Garden and Art Nouveau Garden. They were created in different years and have a different style.
