Xenge Castle
Silesian Piast 1 (Piastó w lą skich 1, Wa1brzych, Poland) 70 km from Wroclaw
Description:
Xenge Castle is the largest princely castle in Lower Silesia and the third largest in Poland. It was founded in 1288-1292.
Over the centuries, the castle has had different owners, but its current appearance is due to the Hochberg family, who owned it for more than 400 years.
During the Second World War, the castle was occupied by the Nazis, one of the headquarters of Adolf Hitler was planned here. Almost all valuables were removed from the castle. And in the rock on which the castle stands, began the construction of tunnels, which, according to some theories, were supposed to connect the castle in Xionge with the castle of the Owl in the mountains.
Despite the loss of all valuables in the castle there is much to see. From the photos you can restore the beauty of the hall Maximilian, the Chinese hall, the Italian hall and others.
A walk in the beautiful garden and dinner in a cozy restaurant will complement the unforgettable stay in Xenge.
In addition, there is a riding center, an exhibition of local art ceramics and porcelain is opened in the castle, and in summer there are exhibitions of flowers and shrubs, as well as demonstrations of medieval battles and palace dances.
