Puppet Theatre "Fairy Tale"

About the company:
Something from the history of the theater "Fairy Tale" December 28, 1979 – in the International Year of the Child – Khakass National Puppet Theatre “Fairy Tale” opened its first theatrical season with a buffoonery performance “Three Pigs” based on the play by S. Mikhalkov and V. Schwemberger. Thus began the glorious history of the only puppet theater in Khakassia and in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the repertory baggage of which today has more than 100 productions based on works of Russian, German, French, Polish, Ukrainian, Circassian and Khakass literature - folk and author, ancient and modern. His godfathers were the main director Ludwig Ustinov and the main artist Mark Zhivilo. On the stage of the theater "Fairy Tale" was made by directors: Y. Fridman, B. Salamchev, V. Biryukov, V. Deryagin, V. Kazakov, N. Borovkov, E. Ibragimov. The performances were designed by famous theater artists: I. Uvarova, O. Goncharova, V. Ponomarev, V. Nikonenko. The main director S. Stolyarov worked here, the main artists: M. Zhivilo and A. Alekseev. From the memoirs of Ludwig Grigorievich Ustinov: "... Offer a theater! The city of Abakan, Khakass Autonomous Region. There is nothing, not even the theater itself, just walls. Everyone's allowed to build themselves. It's a dream come true! Anyone can build a house, raise a son, plant a tree, but build a theater from the first brick. and gather together a group of like-minded people. That's great! The authorities of the region - Vasily Arkhipovich Uguzhakov, Gennady Afrikanovich Vyatkin, Elena Fominichna Filatova - welcomed me cordially and asked me what I would like in a fairy tale. I have dreamed of my theatre for many years. The authorities said, "Take your dream project and your calculations." If you do, we will build.” The project of the theater building is on the table of Gennady Afrikanovich, and I begin to look for shots in the Union: actors, artists, props, decorators, puppet designer. Arranged in Kazan, Yaroslavl. I decided that such a theater needs not just actors, but enthusiasts. He wrote letters to several theater schools: “A young theater needs actors who are not afraid of difficulties, because they will have to rehearse and build.” And housing is hard. For now, I can only give you a hostel.” He met with the chief artist of the Krasnoyarsk Puppet Theatre Mark Markovich Zhivilo. He left Krasnoyarsk and moved to Abakan. Now there are three people in the theater: director Nina Fedorovna Pankova, chief director and chief artist. We are waiting for the first actors to arrive. Graduates of the Yaroslavl Theatre School arrived: Elena Sisina, Zakhar Lebedev. In the largest room, a path was laid out - this is a stage. They put lanterns around - this is a ramp, they threw a few coils of barbed wire - these are rose bushes. Work begins on O. Wilde’s story “The Nightingale and the Rose”. Arrived from Chelyabinsk Savin Victor and Svetlana Dobryanskaya, from Kazan - Anna and Viktor Rychkov. The first days are truly unforgettable, the atmosphere of understanding, goodwill and fun, works easily and joyfully. We started a new job because there are six actors. They need to get used to and understand each other. Our theater is not just a doll, it is an actor and a doll in communication. The guys don't know that yet. We decided to take Andersen’s fairy tale “The Shadow”. There is much debate about what to call the theatre. I propose to name the theater - "Fairy Tale", not just the puppet theater, but the children's theater "Fairy Tale". In the future, we will play performances for teenagers. The emblem of the theater is ready: a rooster sitting on a spire. We began to work on the play based on the fairy tales of Donald Bisset “Everything rolls”. The torment of creativity began - the performance-imagination. Each actor played in six different stories. And everyone had to make himself a doll for purely associative things. The song from this play about imagination became the anthem of our theater. We go to construction all the time. I want to see the finished building soon. Feel the festive atmosphere. After graduating from the Chelyabinsk Music School, Victor Nagdasev comes to the theater, writes a letter to his fellow student Alexander Antonov, who soon turns up in Abakan. Alexander Sentsov is coming from Tyumen. We decided to open the theater well-known fairy tale “Three pigs” by S. Mikhalkov. Allocated responsibilities. Women work in workshops, make dolls and props for the play. Men on construction. In order for the theater to live normally, they decided to prepare three performances for the opening of the theater. So the idea was born to continue the adventures of the Three Pigs. I am writing an improvisational play called Black Wolf. Let's start rehearsing. Opening day is approaching. We made a "Joint of Honor", which everyone must sign. The performances of “Three Pigs” and “Black Wolf” went well. The grand opening of the theater with the play “Three Pigs” is a celebration of the city, children and ours. During the first season, we released two more performances - "Where are you, Foal?" (R. Moskova) and "Rooster Mill" (M. Karim). The second season opened on the roof of the theater. About two thousand children and adults filled the square in front of the theater. We wanted our holiday to become not a celebration of two hundred children in the walls of the theater, but a celebration of the city. To give joy to people that could be more beautiful! It has been 29 years, but still not lost a long tradition: to open and close the theatrical seasons performance on the roof of the theater. Thus, for almost 30 years, the Fairy Tale Theatre has been considered one of the best puppet theaters in Russia, raising the prestige of our republic. The high level of skill of the creative team was repeatedly noted by leading theater critics not only in Russia, but also abroad, who emphasized the high professional level of performances, the brightness and novelty of approaches to the implementation of theater productions. Currently, the repertoire of the theater includes more than 30 productions for children and adults. The theater tours a lot in Khakassia, playing performances in small towns and villages, in Russia and abroad. The theater is actively involved in charitable activities, often gives free performances for deaf-mute children, for orphans. The troupe of the theater also regularly goes with performances to the correctional labor colony No. 35 (Abakan), whose prisoners are actively involved in the creative life of the theater. The campaign began in 2000 as part of a project funded by a grant from the Open Society Institute.
