Boyar scribe
Description:
This is a monument of fine art of Tagar archaeological culture, consisting of two groups of petroglyphs: Small and Big Boyar scribes on the southwestern part of the Boyar ridge. This low ridge 6 km south of the village of Troitsk, Bograd district of the Republic of Khakassia stretches along the left bank of the Yenisei.
Boyar scribe includes images of dwellings, anthropomorphic creatures, deer, goats, horses. The transition from cattle breeding to agriculture explains the appearance of images of S. V. Kiselev. This opinion differs from the point of view, synchronously expressed by M. P. Gryaznov, who defined the significance of the monument as an object of religious purpose. These two points of view on the scribe – “real village” or “ancestral village” – have been the subject of scientific debate for several decades.
