The most beautiful and large mineral lake of Khakassia, the water of which is close in salt composition to the sea, the coastline is 71 km, an area of 80 square kilometers, a depth of 25-46 meters. The water of the lake is medium-mineralized, alkaline, sulfate-chloride, sodium-magnesium, has a bitter taste. Its composition is dominated by sodium sulfuric acid, or glauber salt, because of which the lake was previously called “large laxative”. The bottom is rich in high-quality balneological mud, the mineralization of water varies from 9 to 14 g / l of water and increases with depth.

The lake consists of two parts: the Big Plesh and the Small Plesh, which are connected by a narrow strait. It is unique that in one half of the lake the water is slightly salty (mineral, although it is not recommended to drink it and the taste is not very pleasant), and in the second - almost fresh. When the precipitation level in the area increases, Bele turns into a single lake, and the jumper disappears.

The northern shores of the Big and Small Plyos, Chalpan Mountain are attributed to the territory of the Khakass State Nature Reserve, created to preserve steppe biogeocenoses, wetlands, nesting places and mass accumulation of birds, natural and historical landscapes with complexes of monuments of ancient culture. On the mountain Chalpan are the remains of the fortress of Tagar-Tashtyk time, on the southern slope there are five scribes dating from the II millennium BC to the Middle Ages. From the top of the mountain there is a magnificent panorama of the steppe space and the lake itself.

The reservoir is surrounded by hilly terrain, the northern shore in some areas is steep. You can get to the reserve and the northern shore of Great Belé in several ways, the shortest is 10 km. across the isthmus, the road is uneven, in places carved out and washed away by rains. The northern shore of small Bele is the most sparsely populated and inaccessible - after the rain, there is a possibility not to pass even by SUV. But the beaches there are sandy, in a small bay windless and the water is better heated. The southern shore is low, formed by clay and silt, characterized by a large number of sandy and sandy-gravel beaches. This coast is visible from the highway, to it 0.5-2 km. along the sand and gravel road. There are practically no summer houses, you can stay in a tent for 400-600 rubles. a day from a car.

From the western parts, both lakes are with a sandy bottom and a string of beaches, the passages to which are paid, the shores are equipped and equipped, there are summer cafes and food stalls. On the territory allocated for suburban development, you can rent a summer house or a room at a recreation center. The small lake in the eastern part is fresh, with a rocky bottom and clear, clean water.

The nearest settlements - the village of Pearl and the village of Shira are 16-35 km away, you can buy the necessary food, water, fresh vegetables, meat, pastries, have a delicious lunch in any of them. Taxis are very expensive, so it is more convenient to move in your own car. It will also be needed for travel to attractions - there are no excursion tents on Bel. All the beaches of Lake Bele are located on agricultural land, the recreational zone is only in one place, so the supply of electricity is limited, many houses are equipped with solar panels, turn on heaters, hair dryers, individual kettles and electric stoves will not work, lovers of the benefits of civilization should pay attention to this. Fresh water is imported, it is better to take care of the supply of quality drinking water in advance.
