Ulugh Hurtuyah-Tas

Description:

The stone deity Ulug-Khurtuyakh-Tas is a three-meter stele. According to archaeological data, this structure was dug into the ground, according to various sources from 6 to 4 thousand years ago at the site of a geological fault, where a powerful radiation of special energy was noted.

Today, the Khurtuah Tas stele is a place of pilgrimage and is considered one of the most revered stone statues.

Translated "Ulug-Khurtuyakh-Tas" means "big stone old woman", with a roughly knocked out face, convex stomach and chest.

Every year, Khurtuyakh-Tas is visited by thousands of tourists, and adherents of traditional Khakas beliefs conduct rituals at the statue: she is considered an advocate of motherhood, an assistant to pregnant and childless people.

The statue of "Askiz grandmother" is included in the list of historical heritage of UNESCO.
