Excursion to the reserve "Kazanovka" and the museum "Ulug Khurtuyakh Tas"

The reserve "Kazanovka" appeared in February 1996 on the initiative of a historian, archaeologist and simply caring, sincerely loving Khakassia man Leonid Eremin. During this time, the reserve became the pride of Askiz district and Khakassia. Kazanovka is an example of how to treat historical and cultural heritage, a brand in demand by scientists and tourists from all over the world. Khakassian cuisine is not exotic, but the norm, many rituals are performed naturally, without the desire for theatricalization.

Ulug Khurtuyakh Tas is the famous historical and cultural complex of Khakassia. This name means “big stone old woman”, “mother of mothers”, the progenitor of many peoples, the guardian of the strength and spirit of the Khakass people. She has a rough bumped face, a bulging belly and chest. The stone statue, located in the center of the 35-kilometer Askiz burial ground, is already 4.5 thousand years old. Today, the Khurtuyah Tas stele is a place of pilgrimage and is considered one of the most revered stone statues. This idol in female form, childless women pray for the appearance of children. According to eyewitnesses, appeals to the statue bring much more benefits in the treatment of infertility than treatment by specialists.
