Monument to Peter and Fevronia

Russia, Abakan, Transfiguration Park

Description:

In Khakassia, a monument to Saints Peter and Fevronje was erected in the city of Abakan. It is installed near the local attraction: metal oak. A symbolic metal tree is a sign of fidelity for young couples. They come here, hang locks on the oak and close them with a key, which is thrown into a nearby reservoir.

This place is very popular with newlyweds. Sculptures of Saints Paul and Fevronya came in handy. Now young couples approach the monument and ask the holy spouses for protection and a long, happy marriage.

The figures of Paul and Fevronha are made of bronze. Their height is 2.6 meters, but together with the pedestal, the monument has a height of more than 4 meters. The creation of this figure composition was done by the famous sculptor Konstantin Zinich in the city. The artist depicted a married couple with a peaceful expression on his face. He tried to show that in marriage the main thing is understanding, harmony and love.
