Abakan Airport
Description:
Abakan Airport is an international civil airport of federal importance located in Abakan, in the Republic of Khakassia.
On March 1, 1993 Abakan Airport was established as an independent enterprise. It was allocated from the airline of the city. The decision was made by the State Property Management Committee and agreed with the Department of Air Transport of the Republic of Khakassia. By 1993, the administration had carried out a large amount of work on the development of the international sector and received the title of international airport. In 1996, JSC "Abakan Airport" was founded. In 1999 and 2000, the airport received the award for winning the competition "The best airport of the year of the CIS countries", which was held by the Association "Airport" Civil Aviation.
The airport is located in the north of the city, near the city limits. It is the only one in Khakassia and in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory capable of receiving almost all types of air assets.
