Abakan

Yergaki. Stone City

Description:

Stone City is a unique natural geological object located in the natural park of Yergaki, in the status of a natural monument. Once past the stone city passed an ancient path connecting the Uryanghai Territory (Tuva) and the Abakan steppes. In 1910, a wheeled path was laid, called the Usinsky Trakt. That's what we're going to do with high-performance technology.

The Stone Town is a living legend about the freedom-loving people of Sayan, who fell under the onslaught of the mythical khan.

Here is a unique flora, bizarre rocks and stone placers covered with a layer of moss, alpine meadows, centuries-old cedars and mighty fir trees. Along the way, we overcome the stormy Oyu River and several kilometers of walking path and stairs.

The pedestrian part of the route is about 6 km, passes along the taiga trail up the slope along the stone remains. At an altitude of 1588 meters above sea level is the Watchtower Rock, below frozen stone guards – rocks resembling the figures of ancient warriors. In the rocks about 40 meters high, the outlines of ancient buildings, human faces and various animals are guessed.
