Khakassia without borders

Khakassia, located at the junction of Altai and Sayan, scientists call the “mecca of archeology”. Numerous mounds, ancient settlements, cave paintings, stone sculptures, remains of fortresses ... Many monuments are all-Russian and world famous.

Specialists of the Wildlife Conservation Fund (WWF) attempted to map the archaeological landscapes of Khakassia. They marked more than 30 thousand “above ground” monuments of archaeology.

In these places, shamans have long held their ceremonies, and scientists argue about the meaning of some monuments today.

You will get acquainted not only with the cultural wealth of the republic, but also with many natural monuments! The tour offers to visit the most remote corners of Khakassia; before your eyes, the steppe expanses will be replaced by the Sayan mountain peaks up to 2,500 m high, you will swim in the healing lakes of Khakassia; marble mountains, “stone forest” and other natural monuments are waiting for you on this journey!

 

1 Day.

Meeting in Abakan (at 9.00 at the airport, at 10.00 at the railway station). The time is local, ahead of Moscow by 4 hours.

Welcome breakfast in the cafe "Grains": traditional dishes of Khakassia in the style of modern gastronomic "fashion".

Sightseeing tour of the city of Abakan. Visit to the memorial complex in Samokhval. Mount Samokhval or Ir-tag (male mountain) has been a sacred place since ancient times. Here were found burials of ancient warriors of the Middle Ages. The creation of the memorial continues the ancient tradition of installing Chaa-Tas – the stones of war.

Hotel accommodation.

Excursion to the National Museum of Local History of Khakassia. The unique exposition, which has no analogues, is gathered in the hall “Ancient Art of Khakassia”. The main treasures of the collection are the famous ancient Nisei stone sculptures carved from sandstone and granite. Also in the hall there are petroglyphs of different eras, copies of rock paintings and monuments of ancient Turkic runic writing. It seems that the ancient “faces” of statues and “letters” bring us information from the depths of centuries.

Back to the hotel. Excursion to the Borodino cave (for those who wish, for an additional fee from 2500 rubles / person). Borodino cave is the only equipped cave in Khakassia, you can walk through all the halls of the cave. The cave has no equal in the beauty of various types of sediments, here is the largest in Siberia stalagmite Upper Pagoda.

2 Day.

A visit to the modern Khakass yurt - here is the ethno-workshop dynasty of musicians. Acquaintance with Khakas traditions and national Khakas instruments.

Excursion to the Khakass National Reserve. On the territory of the reserve there is a museum complex "Oglahty" - the largest collection of ancient rock paintings, a world cultural and historical treasure.

From the observation decks of the excursion staircase with a length of 965 steps, a magnificent view of the Khakas steppes and the Krasnoyarsk reservoir opens.

Visit to the master of making national costumes. Acquaintance with the features and sacred meaning of the national Khakass costume.

3 Day.

Departure from the hotel. We continue our journey through the steppes of Khakassia, which still store many ancient statues, menhirs and rock paintings.

Visiting one of the open-air museums, "Kazanovka" or "Ust-Sos". On the territory of museums there are wooden Khakass yurts, here you can get acquainted with the decoration, ancient objects of labor and traditions.

In addition, here you will get acquainted with the sacred menhirs, to which locals still come with requests for health and the fulfillment of cherished desires.

In the museum "Ust-Sos" in some of the dates of the tour we are waiting for participation in the traditional collection of ancient Khakass families.

Continuation of the trip to the south of Khakassia to the recreation center located in the taiga, on the banks of the mountain river Ona. One of the main impressions of today: the endless steppes of Khakassia are replaced by magnificent mountain taiga landscapes.

Day 4.

Today there is a whole automobile expedition from Khakassia to Tyva! (about 120 km in one direction).

One of the most beautiful roads in Siberia, unfortunately, is rarely found on tours in Khakassia.

Sheer cliffs, narrow canyons, magnificent taiga and frantic sloping rivers, along the way unforgettable natural monuments - "Source of Youth" and "Blue Gate". A winding mountain road along the river B. On, leading to the Sayan Pass from the taiga to the high-mountain tundra, through lingonberry, blueberry and cedar places.

Departure to the Sayan Pass (the border of Khakassia and Tuva), 2214 m above the sea level - on top of the world!

Departure to Abakan, on the way excursion to the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP.

Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP is the largest and most powerful power plant in Russia. During the tour you will visit the observation deck and hear the history of the construction of the HPP.

On the way stop at observation decks, in the most picturesque places on the banks of one of the greatest Siberian rivers, the Yenisei.

Visit to the amusement park "Tortuga". A boat ride through the reservoir.

6 Day.

Departure from the hotel. Today we go to the north of the republic, Abakan-Sunduki - Priiskovy p. (360 km). And again we are waiting for a unique nature and unique monuments.

Excursion "Archaeological tour of the tract "Trenches",

Majestic monument in the Khakass steppe. Acquaintance with the oldest astronomical observatory and its main objects and drawings. The complex includes several observation platforms, a calendar, a biography of the great warrior, reflecting the mythology of the ancients, as well as many objects and artifacts, the purpose of which has not yet been solved by scientists.

Moving and accommodation in the hotel in Priiskovy p., located in the spurs of Kuznetsk Alatau.

Priiskovy is famous for its unique nature, snowballs lie here in the mountains all year round. Nowhere in the world do snowballs remain at such low altitude all summer.

A trip to the mountains!

On the off-road transport and, further, on foot, go to the natural monument of the Republic of Khakassia - Ivanovo Lakes: blooming valleys, waterfalls and rocks covered with snow.

 

8 Day.

Return to the steppe part of Khakassia, to the lake Shira. Khakassia is a country of lakes, salt and fresh, in total there are more than 500!

Accommodation at the recreation center. Swimming (weather conditions), excursions to the lakes. Also at will (for an additional fee) you can order a rafting along the White Jus River, an excursion to the “Ancestors’ Path”, etc.

 

9 Day.

Moving to Abakan (153 km). On the way, a visit to the Tuimsky failure is an object of man-made origin. The height from the highest peak to the surface of the lake, located at the bottom of the basin, is 125 meters, it is five ten-storey buildings. The depth of the reservoir formed at the bottom of the failure, 200 m. At the bottom formed a lake with water, painted in bright blue.

A visit to the Park of Stone Figures or “Stone Forest” is a landmark of Khakassia, created by nature itself.
