Description:

d. Alapayevsk is the birthplace of the great composer P.I. Tchaikovsky. The house-museum of the composer P.I. Tchaikovsky consists of two departments: Alapayevsky life of the Tchaikovskys and a collection of unique musical instruments and miniatures of different times and peoples. Not far from the city is a monastery at the place of execution of the Grand Dukes of the Romanovs. Alapayevsk received a sad fame and entered world history as a place of murder of members of the royal family of Romanov. The true pearl of folk art of the Alapayevsky district is the Nizhnesignachikhi Museum-Reserve of Wooden Architecture and Folk Art, created by I.D. Samoilov. Here, right under the open sky, all the buildings characteristic of the Middle Ural village are recreated. Peasant estates of the XVIII - XIX centuries coexist with a wooden mill, forge, baths, wells and an inn. From the old Nizhnesinyachikhinsky plant, a dam and a pond have been preserved. In the Transfiguration Church, the only stone building of the reserve, there is a unique collection of folk paintings on wood, here you can see rare icons of local writing.
