Monument to the Weaving Rebellion
Russia, Vladimir region, Alexandrov, Soviet Square
Description:
The monument was erected on October 9, 1987 - on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution - on Soviet Square in memory of the uprising of workers of the weaving factory S.N. Baranov.
Sculptors Yakovlev B.D., Novosadyuk V.A. and architect Doronenkov V.S. worked on the creation of the monument.
Initially, the monument was a two-part composition - a vertical monument with sculpture and a horizontal relief with scenes of revolutionary events. Until now, only part of the composition has survived - the sculpture of a woman on a high pedestal. But even in this truncated version, the monument arouses interest and harmoniously fits into the environment. The figure of a woman with a fluttering flag in her hands is directed away from the temple, next to her is a cliff and stretching Russian landscape.
