V.N. Avanesov Square in the city of Anapa

The initiator of the creation of this park was an honorary resident of Anapa, Honored Doctor, Vladimir Nikolaevich Avanesov. Calling the square his name, the townspeople gave a debt of memory to their countryman.

Avanesov can rightly be called the founder of the children's resort of Anapa. At one time, it was he who sought to give Anapa the status of the All-Union Children's Health Resort, and largely thanks to his efforts, this status was obtained. Until his last day, he defended the resort area of Anapa, spoke in the media, at round tables and conferences, passed on his rich experience to students of the Sochi State University of Tourism and Resorts. Under the leadership of Avanesov, a colossal work was carried out to turn Anapa into a year-round resort, which gave impetus to the development of the city as a whole.

He fought for every green corner, tried to preserve the quiet areas, realizing how important it was for a modern resort. It is significant that the square was landscaped with funds collected by collectives of health resorts, educational institutions and ordinary residents of Anapa - so great was the authority of the doctor among the citizens. Today it is a beautiful landscape composition, which offers amazing views of the sea. Broken flowerbeds, paved pedestrian paths, separated from the descent to the sea by a beautiful parapet. There is also a memorial sign - a bust of Avanesov.
