Square of Military Glory in the city of Anapa
d. Anapa, corner of Revolution Avenue and street. Tiraspol
Description:
Those who come on vacation to Anapa should definitely visit the Glory Square. If you are vacationing with children, then this is a good reason to tell your child about the historical milestones of the country and significant, often tragic, events in its difficult history.
At the beginning of the square, attention is attracted by an unusual monument, which is a granite slab on which molten lava flows, with an inscription reminding everyone of the victims of Chernobyl. In the center of the square is a monument installed on the mass grave of participants of the Great Patriotic and Civil Wars. It was opened in the year of the fiftieth anniversary of the October Revolution, in May 1967. Performed in a strict manner, the monument is a rectangular arrow shape, the inscription on which glorifies the defenders of the Fatherland. In the center of the site set aside for the monument, the Eternal Flame burns. On the left side of the memorial is another monument dedicated to the victims of Stalin’s repressions, erected in 1996.
On the right side of the Eternal Flame is the mournful figure of a soldier crouched on a stone. This is a tribute to the Afghan soldiers who died in that distant foreign war, but honorably fulfilled their personal soldier's duty. Another memorial, erected on June 28, 1998, is a stone slab, torn into two halves - gray and red. The edges of the plates at the junction of gray and red granite are uneven, like a lacerated non-healing wound. The inscription on the left reads that the monument is dedicated to the Anapt residents who died during the Chechen events.
