grebenskaya street, 1, the city of Anapa, Krasnodar Territory
Description:
One of the most famous monuments of Anapa is deservedly a monument to the Kuban doctor to the founder of the resort V. A. Budzinsky on the banks of the Central embankment.
His achievements were recognized by Nicholas II. In 1915, he decreed V.A. Budzinsky the title of “Honorary Citizen of Anapa”.
On June 19, 1998, in his honor, a granite monument was erected in front of the Anapa sanatorium.
The inscription on the pedestal reads “From grateful Anapchan on the day of the centenary of the resort”.
Worked on the monument sculptor Vasily Polyakov and architect Yu.V. Rysin.
According to the idea, Budzinsky slightly resembles the fabulous doctor Aibolit, because he has much in common with this character. Both were concerned about their health.
Budzinsky made a lot of efforts, convincing that it is possible to create a Russian resort city in Anapa.
Thanks to his medical education, he managed to convince that the curative climate, mud baths and mineral water have a positive effect on the human body.
On July 21, 1900, the first water mud hospital was opened in Anapa. Later it was re-registered to the Institute of Physical Treatments.
