Monument to power in Anapa

ooh Garden, city of Anapa, Krasnodar Territory

Description:

There is a very peculiar monument in Anapa, which the locals call a monument of power. The name is not quite accurate - the architectural structure was erected not in honor of the ruling bodies in general, but established as a memory of the proclamation of Soviet power in the city. This event took place on February 6, 1918, on the same day a large number of revolutionary-minded residents gathered on Sadovaya Street. It was unanimously decided to build a monument, which was to perpetuate the beginning of the era of workers' and peasants' power. As it turned out later, it did not last a century, but even in the vague nineties of the last century, the monument was not touched and demolished, leaving it in the city as a page of history.

The monument is a granite slab 1 meter high and 5 meters wide. The architectural ensemble includes three more pillars, which probably personified the unity of the working class, the peasantry of the intelligentsia. However, some believe that it is a reminder of the existence of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Interpretation is also complicated by the fact that the name of the author of the monument has not been preserved.

You can get to Sadovaya Street in Anapa by taxi number 17.
