Anapa

Monument to warriors in Anapa

Alley of Glory, city of Anapa, Krasnodar region

Description:

The monument to the soldiers in Anapa is a tribute to those who performed their international duty in Afghanistan. About two hundred locals were called up for service and 6 of them did not return from the battlefield.

The modest monument was created by Vasily Polyakov and erected on the Alley of Fame (Memory) in 1992. He personifies a soldier sitting on a stone, in whose eyes the sorrow and bitterness of losses are read. In front of him is the land torn by shells. The monument was built at the expense of the sculptor, relatives and friends of those who took part in the war.

The available donations were enough only to equip a copper frame and fill it with concrete. But that's not what matters. People come here to put flowers and remember those who did not regret their lives.

The main entrance to the Walk of Fame is located in Cordonne Lane. You can get there by bus number 2 or 4. The landmark will be the stop "Di Luch" (Pushkin Street).
