Monument to Chernobyl Victims

prosp. Revolutions, Anapa, Krasnodar Territory, Russia, 353440

Description:

In Anapa there is a memorial in the form of a stone slab, which is dedicated to the tragedy that happened in Chernobyl.
It bears the inscription “To Chernobyl Victims 1986-1996”. This building was built for the decade of the tragic event that occurred in Chernobyl.

The resort sent for rest and treatment of citizens from infected areas of Belarus and Ukraine. There were at least 12,000 people in Anapa in the summer of 1986, and many children also came. They were placed in the most prestigious health resorts and children's camps. In difficult times, the residents of the city showed indifference to other people's grief, they came to the aid of the victims during the nuclear accident.

A little later it became clear that thanks to local mineral waters, therapeutic mud, sea iodized air, radionuclides were quickly excreted from the body.

All this improved the condition of sick children. Residents of Anapa helped Chernobyl with money, as well as in the elimination of the consequences of the accident.

The construction speaks about the contribution of citizens, their participation and assistance in overcoming the consequences of the accident. This is a granite slab of uneven shape with an abandoned edge. It reminds me of the sad events that we had to overcome together. About compassion and compassion, mutual assistance.
There is a memorial building on Revolution Avenue.
