Anzhero-Sudzhensky City Museum of Local Lore

Anzhero-Sudzhensky City Museum of Local Lore is the center of research and local history work of the city. The collections of the museum include 38,500 items of storage (of which 34,300 items of the main fund), including paleontological, archaeological, geological, ethnographic, numismatic collections, material and documentary primary sources. Annually, the Giftor’s Day is held – a holiday to which citizens who have made valuable gifts to the museum are invited. In the city newspaper "Our city" is published quarterly "Museum Express". On the local television channel there is a column “Benefis of one exhibit”. The museum regularly participates in regional scientific and practical conferences. The museum was founded in 1981 on the basis of a small public museum. In 2011, the museum celebrated its 30th anniversary.
