Ardon

Ardon (Osset. Erydon) - a city (since 1964) in Russia, the administrative center of the Ardonsky district of North Ossetia, the railway station of the North Caucasus Railway. The city is located on the Ossetian sloped plain, on the arm of the Ardon River, 39 km northwest of Vladikavkaz.

Population: 19,412 (2018). National composition (2010): Ossetians, Russians, Armenians, others.

Climate: moderate continental, average air temperature in July + 20.4 C, in January - 9.4 C.

The city has 6 preschool institutions, 4 secondary educational institutions, Sunday school, music and art school, Ardon Agrarian and Technological College.
