The Chapel of St. Sergius of Radonezh

Russia, Arkhangelsk region, Arkhangelsk, Dzerzhinsky Avenue, 11th building 1.

Description:

The chapel of St. Sergius of Radonezh is located on the Station Square of Arkhangelsk. Construction of the chapel began in 2007, and the opening ceremony took place on May 27, 2008. The parishioners owe this gift to the Northern Railway branch, which provided significant financial support for the design and construction of the chapel. In the same year, citizens celebrated the 140th anniversary of the Northern Railway, so the appearance of the chapel became a symbolic gift for passengers and the road.

The chapel is a small wooden building that does not have a specially designated space for the altar. The chapel is crowned by a gilded onion dome with a cross. The chapel is open daily, prayer services are read here, and akathists are celebrated on Tuesdays.
