Manor house E. K. Plotnikova

d. Arkhangelsk, st. Pomeranian, 1

Description:

In the estate of Ekaterina Kirillovna Plotnikova there is a branch of the state museum association "Artistic Culture of the Russian North". In 1994, the building was transferred to the Arkhangelsk Museum of Fine Arts and since 2001, exhibitions characterizing the artistic culture and traditions of the Pomeranian north have been held in the restored halls.

Manor Plotnikova in the late 18th century was two separate buildings connected by a stone wall. When they became one owner, two completely different facades were converted into one architectural ensemble, the interiors were designed in the same style, and shops appeared in the residential building. The manor house in Soviet times was transferred to city institutions and greatly lost its interior decoration. The Museum Association has been engaged in the restoration of the interior of the building for several years.

Today at the permanent exhibitions you can see artworks of famous Arkhangelsk artists, icons, household items and decorative and applied arts.
