The lake
Lake, Arkhangelsk region, Russia
Description:
The total area of the lake is 2 square kilometers. It has a large tributary called Ilex. The river Vaimuga flows from Lake Obozera, which is a tributary of the Emtsy River. The lake itself is actually divided into two parts, as a result of which it has such a name. The western part of the lake is called Black and further flows into the rest of Lake Obozero. In the north of Lake Obozero, near Lokhta Bay, there is a village of Small Lakes. Near the village the width of the lake is 500 meters. Previously, this village was the administrative center of the Kholmogorsk district of the Yakovlevsky volost, and later the Arkhangelsk district.
Previously, there were many fish in the lake, such as: poop, bream, pike, ulcer, roach, perch, whitefish, harius. But due to the locals, who often engaged in poaching, there are almost no fish left in the lake.
