Solozero

The lake is located in a wetland in the southern part of the Onega Peninsula, in the eastern part of the headwaters of the Kanda River. The river Kanda passes in the rural settlement Pokrovsky. Its beginning comes from a swamp located on the Onega Peninsula, to the western part of the Solozero Lake. Then it flows into the Onega Bay of the White Sea.

Lake Solozero has several large islands, these are Ilyaostrov and Sredny. Several streams flow into the lake, the largest of them Lenyaruchy and Chelkaruchey and one river called the Upper Solza.

There is only one river out of the lake – the Lower Solza.
