Holy Trinity Temple

d. Arkhangelsk, st. Komsomolskaya, 1A

Description:

The first Holy Trinity Church was built at the first sea fortress founded by Peter the Great at the mouth of the Northern Dvina on the island of Brevennik. Here were built two wooden churches Trinity and Epiphany, built by the forces of the garrison located here. Over time, they became very dilapidated, and the soldiers, asking for the consent of Archbishop Barsonofy, began the construction of a stone two-storey church, which actually merged the two previous ones.

Today, services are held in the temple, but restoration has not yet been completed in all the aisles. On donations and funds of charitable programs, the second floor of the Epiphany Church and its chapel are restored. Currently, services are held only in the aisle of Archangel Michael. The temple contains particles of the relics of St. Cyril and Mary of Radonezh, the Great Martyr Barbara, the righteous Alexy Mechev the Elder of Moscow, St. Athanasius (Sakharov), St. Theodosius of Chernigov, the holy blessed Elder Matrona of Moscow.
