Kholmogorsk Museum of Local History

Arkhangelsk region, Kholmogorsky district, Kholmogory village, Goroncharovsky embankment street, 34

About the company:

Kholmogorsk Local History Museum was founded in 2002. It is located in a house built in 1908 by D.F. Berdennikov - the owner of oil-making, sawmills and tanneries, as well as a dozen retail shops throughout the Kholmogorsk district. The beginning of the collection was the exhibits collected for the school museum by students of the Kholmogorsk school.

Currently, seven halls of the Kholmogorsk Museum of Local Lore tell about the history and nature of Kholmogor, bone carving, the Kholmogorsk cattle breed, the Berdennikov family, the realities and everyday life of Soviet times. Separate halls are dedicated to the Great Patriotic War and the Kholmogory-born front-line soldier, public figure, publicist and writer N.K. Zhernakov.
