Historical and Memorial Museum of M.V. Lomonosov
About the company:
The historical and memorial museum of M.V. Lomonosov is located in the homeland of the famous Russian scientist-encyclopedist - in the village of Lomonosovo, Kholmogorsk district of the Arkhangelsk region.
The museum occupies the building of the former school, built in 1892 on the site where the Lomonosov estate was supposedly located. Nearby there is a pond, according to legend, dug up by the father of the scientist Vasily Dorofeevich.
The exposition of the museum tells about the traditional northern life, artisans and seafarers, the heyday of Kholmogor under Archbishop Athanasia, merchant shipbuilders Bazhenins, the childhood of Mikhailo Lomonosov and his path from the son of a Dvinsky peasant to the first major Russian scientist-naturalist, educator and universal person.
