Museum of the History of Medicine of the European North

At the Northern State Medical University (SSMU) in 2005, the museum complex of the history of medicine of the European North was founded. All educational units of the university and many medical and preventive institutions of Arkhangelsk participated in its creation. Its main task was to preserve the unique museum collections, which are the cultural heritage of health care in the European North of Russia.

Separate museum expositions are devoted to the activities of the university and the founders of the main departments. Others talk about the life and professional work of prominent doctors exiled to the Northern Territory in the thirties. Separate rooms "Operational", "Dentist's office" and others are decorated using real items of medical furniture, equipment and other devices and materials. The restored interior allows you to plunge into the atmosphere of the doctor’s office of past years.
