To get to the Sofia gorge to the famous Sofia waterfalls, you need to drive from the village of Arkhyz about 12 km off-road to the end of the gorge. It takes an hour. Then walk to the waterfalls, walk for about an hour. It's a half-day route.
You can also get to the waterfalls through the Sophia Saddle Pass, then the route will be ring, with a length of 7 km. And that's for the whole day. From the pass there is a magnificent view of the peaks around, Kizgych gorge, Abkhazia. Or vice versa, from the waterfalls to the saddle. But those options are only possible when the snow melts - from July.
