Museum of History of Arsenyev, branch of the State Cultural Institution "Primorsky State United Museum named after V.K. Arsenyev"

The Museum of History of Arsenyev is a recognized center of culture, keeping the history of both Arsenyev and the entire Primorsky Territory. In its funds collected more than 100 thousand units of storage. The museum has an exhibition and several exhibition halls.
V.K. Arsenyev is a famous researcher of the Far East, scientist, writer and traveler. In 1952, the working village of Semenovka was transformed into a city and received the name Arsenyev. The exposition “His name is our city”, located in the foyer of the museum, presents materials about the life and work of Vladimir Klavdievich, as well as authentic materials about the shooting of the feature film “Dersu Uzala” (diary). The exposition “Semenovka Village before the Revolution”, located in hall No. 1, presents the life of peasant settlers from the western parts of Russia and Ukraine, who founded the village of Semenovka in 1902.
Having familiarized yourself with the exposition “Working village Semenovka during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45” in hall No. 2, you will learn what a significant contribution to the approach of Victory Day was made by the residents of the working village Semenovka. Many of them went to the front, and those who remained - women, children and the elderly - worked courageously in military factories - produced UT-2 aircraft and various ammunition.
Expositions of halls No. 2 and 3 “Arsenyev and Arsenyevtsy” will tell about how citizens lived in the post-war period, and how they live today, will acquaint them with sights, the history of the growth of the city of Arsenyev and its infrastructure.
There is also a permanent exhibition “Archaeological finds in the Primorsky Territory” and a unique archaeological exhibition “Eskimos of Ratmanov Island”.
In the exhibition hall of the museum every month, visitors can get acquainted with various new exhibitions both from the museum funds and from private collections of citizens.
The city of Arsenyev is located in the heart of the seaside taiga. Primorye is one of the richest regions of Russia in terms of species diversity of plants and animals.
Once in the hall No. 4 “Natural riches of the Primorsky Territory”, you seem to get into the Primorsky taiga and get acquainted with its inhabitants. Here are stuffed seaside animals and birds, a marine collection, herbaria, collections of insects, as well as minerals.
In addition to the main exposition is located around the arboretum museum, where rare plants of Primorsky Krai are planted. From May to October, excursions are held here, introducing visitors to the flora of the seaside taiga.
