The title has two interpretations. One considers the toponym from the point of view of assessing local natural conditions, bringing it closer to the Turkic verb “ash”, “as”, with the meaning “to cross, to pass (over the mountains)”, i.e. the river (Asha), breaking through the mountains. Another interpretation connects the name of the river with the Bashkir tribal name "assa", "asa", "asa", and comes from the name of the river in the primary sources - Assa. Rhode As was a member of the Katai tribe.
