Babaev Local History Museum named after M.V. Gorbunova

The Babaev National Museum was opened on June 3, 1978. In the future, the museum became local history, and it was named after the founder Maria Vasilievna Gorbunova.

The exhibits were collected by students and teachers of Babayev High School No. 1 for 20 years. There were many monuments, but few photographs and documents. The beginning of collecting documentary monuments should be considered the 50th anniversary of the Komsomol. In preparation for this date, the addresses of Komsomol members of the 20s living outside the Vologda region were found.

On October 13, 1968, the first district meeting of veterans-Komsomol members was held, and a year later - the second, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Babaev Komsomol organization. Those who came to the meetings brought with them documents and photos. The local newspaper “Leninsky Way” under the heading “Museum to be” published materials about the participation of the population in the creation of the museum.
