City Park named after Admiral Golovko
Baltiysk, Kaliningrad region, Russia.
Description:
City Park named after Admiral Golovko is located in the city of Baltiysk. Previously, this place was popular with locals and tourists, there were cafes and attractions. The park was very damaged during the war, during the assault on Pillau, as Baltiysk used to be called.
Military builders returned it to its former glory, city holidays began to be held here again, ice cream was sold, movies were shown, and Soviet pop stars regularly shone in the Summer Theater of the park.
In the 90s of the XX century, after the transfer of the park to the city authorities, it fell into decline. The summer theater burned down and the sculptures were destroyed. To date, only the park gates, carved sculptures of bears have been preserved in their original form. Today, the city authorities are taking all measures to restore this monument of landscape architecture. In the park named after Admiral Golovko, holidays began to be held again, lovers, tourists and children walk.
