Area of Baltic Glory
Baltic Glory Square, Baltiysk, Kaliningrad Region, Russia
Description:
Baltic Glory Square is a beautiful square in South Baltiysk, which is designed for major events - concerts, solemn parades and performances. It was created in 1975, on the site of the city district destroyed during the battles for Baltiysk.
The Baltic Glory Square is located on the shores of the Baltic Sea, in the south of the city of Baltiysk, in the northwestern region of Russia. This is a rectangular square, the northern part of which is lined with massive concrete slabs, and in the south there are stands. The west of the square smoothly turns into a picturesque square with many memorable signs. In the east there is the main entrance, which is guarded by two sculptures - a soldier and a sailor, and a little further there are two ship guns "B-132" and a monument on a concrete pedestal - "Torpedo Boat". It was recognized as an important local cultural heritage site in 2007.
The area of Baltic Glory is inseparably connected with a cozy square located nearby. In May 1977, commemorative signs were installed in it, which were dedicated to the Baltic paratroopers and seamen-guards of the water area. The southern part of the square is decorated with a stone stele with a commemorative inscription, and the northern part is decorated with a metal obelisk on a small concrete pedestal.
