Pillau in Baltic

Description:

Historic Pillau sites can be seen in Baltiysk. The square of the Baltic Glory (Haken Peninsula, translated from German - hook) begins with the Museum of the Baltic Fleet (the building was built in 1903, earlier it housed the Pillau court) and the sea Cathedral of George the Victorious (previously the Lutheran Church was built in the middle of the 19th century). At the entrance to the city, we are greeted by a water tower more than 30 meters high, built in the twenties of the 19th century, previously used as an observation deck beyond the sea. The infantry barracks, built in 1904, now house the headquarters of the naval base. The Swedish fortress was founded in 1626, where a detachment of underwater special forces was located. Are there still few historical places in Baltiysk?! – of course, there are many and you can see and touch them with your own hands.
