Barnaul River Station

Description:

Barnaul River Station is a port located in the central area on the banks of the Ob, near the mouth of the Barnaulka River. There are regular passenger and cargo transportation.

It is known that until the middle of the XIX century in the Barnaul region traffic was quite insignificant and only after the appearance of steamships, the situation changed significantly. After that, cargo turnover increased rapidly and for 6 years from 1904 to 1910 was 5.7 million poods, and if the years were productive, then this figure increased to 9 million poods. In those years, 39 steamboats, large boats and barges operated between Barnaul and other piers.

The importance of the river station in the city of Barnaul was reduced by the Altai Railway, which was built in 1915. It took a significant part of the cargo, as well as passengers. Only in the 1950s Barnaul River Port returned to its previous volumes of cargo transportation.

The modern port building was erected in 1985. To date, ships of the river station of the city of Barnaul regularly carry out intracity and suburban passenger transportation, as well as flights of a promenade nature on the Ob. As for cargo transportation, it is often bulk construction materials, represented by sand, rubble.
