On the one hand, Altai borders the world's greatest West Siberian plain, and on the other - with the grandiose belt of mountains of Southern Siberia. The Russian, Mongolian, Ore, Gobi Altai are all parts of one huge mountain system located in the depths of the Asian continent. Altai is a mountainous country on the territory of the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China. It consists of ridges forming the watershed of the Ob, Irtysh, Yenisei and rivers of the drainless region of Central Asia. We invite you to get acquainted with the Russian Altai, that part of this great mountainous country, which is located on the territory of the Russian Federation. Cars go to the South-West of the Altai Territory on the Federal highway M349 Barnaul - Semipalatinsk. In the village of Pospeliha, we turn left from the highway, the foothills of the Mountain Kolyvan are already visible in front. 12.00 – lunch in a cafe in the village of Kurya. 15.00 – stop on the shore of the relict, warm Kolyvan Lake (Savvushki) on the territory of the Côte d’Azur. On the tourist base there are several shield houses, there is a cafe, bath, shower, toilets, volleyball court, water bike rental works on the beach. While guides equip the camp, tourists go on an excursion to the city of Zmeinogorsk. 16.00 - 19.00 excursion. The city of Zmeinogorsk was founded in 1736, and long was the center of mining. Currently, 32 monuments have been registered in Zmeinogorsk, including: 14 historical monuments, 18 - architecture and urban planning. The historical center has been preserved in the city, where the offices of the Zmeinogorsk mine, the House of Mining Officers, museums of mining, shops and residential houses of merchants are located. The history of the city is presented in the museum of the history of mining production. It contains unique exhibits revealing the life of mining workers, the art of Kolyvan stone cutters and jewelers. I. Rossi and others (the best examples are in the Hermitage – Queen of Vases, etc.). Its successor is the Kolyvan stone-cutting plant named after I. I. After lunch excursion to Denisov Cave. The cave received its name from the name of the hermit Dionysius, who lived here in the second half of the XVIII century. For archaeology, the cave was opened in 1977 by Nikolai Ovodov, when the first two exploratory pits were laid. From those years to the present time, archaeological excavations have been carried out in the cave, about 50,000 exhibits have been collected which are stored in the museums of Novosibirsk, Biysk, in the school museums of Black Anui and Soloneshny. Near the cave, a stationary archaeological camp of the Institute of Archaeology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences was created. During the excavation of the cave, more than 20 cultural layers of different eras were discovered. Remains of Neanderthals, stone age tools, iron tools dating from the XIV - XV centuries AD were found.
