14 days/13 nights (auto 1,570 km, horses 177 km)

This area is considered one of the most beautiful and interesting in Altai. From some peaks, a view of 30-50 kilometers around opens: the waves of the stone sea, frozen under the blue-white caps of ice, steep slopes, gorges, eternal snow and glaciers. Peaks of the South Chui Ridge are about 3000-3700 m above sea level. It is part of the highest level of Altai. During the route, travelers visit the most mysterious area of Altai, covered with legends - the Ukok plateau.

The Ukok Plateau (2150 m above sea level) is an area famous for its unique archaeological finds. Monuments from the Paleolithic, Bronze and Iron Ages to the Middle Ages and XVII-XVIII centuries BC are found here. On the Ukok plateau, a well-preserved mummy of a woman in a rich burial with perfectly preserved dynamic tattoos was discovered, as well as a large number of valuable highly artistic things of past eras.

The findings were exhibited in the best museums in the world. The Ukok Plateau has not yet shared all its secrets: new discoveries are waiting for their turn in the permafrost of the high-mountain tundra.
