Unexplored Altai: the edge of rivers, lakes and waterfalls (exploration)

DAY 1

Meeting of the group at the hotel "Tourist" in Barnaul (9:00). Transfer to the village of Tungur. The road takes all day (700km). But the road will give us fascinating views of the Altai Mountains.

In the evening, we camp at the recreation center in tents. Traditional Dating Night by the Fire. The ability to charge phones and leave extra things.

It's 700 kilometers.

DAY 2

On the off-road vehicle GAZ-66 we will drive 15 km to the valley of the Kucherla River. Further up along the river to its confluence with the river Kulagash, where we will stop for lunch. Then we go up along the river and its floods and waterfalls. We camp on the first mountain lake on our way.

12 km crossing. Set height of 500 m. Parking height of 1600 m.

DAY 3

We continue our journey through the Kulagasha Valley. The valley is unusually picturesque with many lakes, slopes and waterfalls. The places are quite wild, the trail is not always pronounced, but the chances of meeting wild animals increase, as well as the most fully feel the untouched wildlife of the Altai Mountains.

We pass the cascade of waterfalls and over one of them we cross the river into the family to climb to the valley of the Upper Kulagash lakes. On the shore of one of them we will camp for the next 2 nights.

15 km crossing. Altitude of 600 m. Parking height of 2200 m.

DAY 4

We are surrounded by a circus of passes, snow-capped peaks and glaciers.

Today we will go for exploration on one of the passes to see the valley from a height and look into the neighboring one.

Approximate radial output of 20km. Rise of 500m

DAY 5

In the morning we gather camp and go to the pass B.Kulagashsky 1B 2750m. The ascent runs along the high-altitude lakes and takes us to the glacier. We take the cat out of the backpacks and overcome the last takeoff to the pass to be in the valley of the Abiak River. The camp is again set at the lake, surrounded by the peaks of the Altai mountains.

18km junction. 550m altitude. Reset 450

DAY 6

We go down to the forest area to the Yoldo River. Midday. Part of the group, together with the instructor, is radially following us to the cordon of the reserve. The rest equip the camp, rest and wait for tasty things from the throw.

7km junction. Reset 500m. Radial to the cordon and back 10 km.

DAY 7

Today is a difficult day, we are waiting for the Jalam pass central 1A. Approach to it 10 km with a set of 1050 m. Further descent into a very picturesque valley with Lake Darashkol.

Transition 17 km. Set 1050. Descent 800.

DAY 8

Day.

Radical exit to the Valley of Flowers. This is a stunning beauty of alpine meadows, stretched in a valley under the glacier.

DAY 9

We go further, to the valley of the river Kucherla. First we go down along the river Yoldo-Ayra, which flows from the lake Darashkol, Having reached the arrow with the river Kony-Ayra, we have a serious ford.

Now, having dried and snacked, we will go down Kucherle down to the southern tip of the lake, from where stunning views open, and the bath is not far away.

DAY 10

A spare day in case of bad weather.

If you don't have to, we'll have a day with a radial exit or a bath.

Days 11 AND 12

We descend along the turquoise waters of Kucherly in the direction of the village of Tungur. By the middle of the second day, GAZ-66 will pick us up and we will overcome the last 20 km on it.

25 km crossing.

DAY 13

Road to Barnaul. Planned time of return to Barnaul 20:00.

Tickets are best taken the next morning.
